Cherry and Maple Watch Box with an Ambrosia Maple lid 🍒🍁🐞
This was based off of a Tea Box that I had made last year but modified to be a little more substantial (weighed almost 10lbs by the end of it 😅)
I challenged myself to not use any hardware (except for the lid hinges), so this is all nothing but joinery and glue, including what holds the Conservation Glass in place. I used an overlapping and recessed joint for the sides but also to set the 3/4″ Maple into the bottom as well to give it a solid base.
First time using Lacquer as a finish which I think went well as a rookie with it, and also my first time working with Ambrosia Maple and it is SUPER cool 👌 Very fun to select your favorite flame sections and put them together 🐞🔥
These were delivered to two good homes this week, and seeing the client’s reaction in person is always such a great reward!
